Hartel Veterinary Hospital

Quality pet care because they are a part of the family.

About Us

We are proud to announce that Dr. Melissa Wyatt has joined the staff at Hartel Veterinary Hospital.  Dr. Wyatt is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and  was last employed by Haslett Animal Hospital in Haslett Michigan, where she practiced companion animal surgery and medicine for over 16 years. We feel incredibly fortunate to now have Dr. Wyatt as a full time doctor here at Hartel.

Hartel Veterinary Hospital was founded by Dr. Pat White and opened in 1985 and has continued at this location since then. We now have two full time employees: Kathy Schneider, licensed veterinary technician and Amber Rathburn,  the office manager and also a licensed veterinarian technician .  Kathy has been with us since 1988 and Amber started in April of 2015.   Those of you who know Karen realize we could never replace her when she retired, but Amber has risen to the occasion and brings a fresh outlook and attitude to our office; we are thrilled to have her here. Denae Baker has also joined our staff.  We are a little old fashioned here: we believe that phone calls are better answered by a person.  When you call for an appointment, you will be talking to one of a small number of individuals: Amber, Kathy, Denae, Dr. Wyatt or Dr. White. We will give you answers to your questions; if we don't know, we will find out, and if we can't find out, we will recommend you to someone who hopefully can.  We believe that a patient's medical condition can be followed extremely well by a small, dedicated staff who know the client and the patient by sight.  If we do not feel we are capable of giving your pet the care it requires, we will never hesitate to recommend referral to a specialist.  If you are just not happy with the progress your pet is making, we will be happy to arrange a referral at your request.  We should be partners in your pet's health and everyone at this office strives to be just that.
